This thesis deals with a reconstruction of a 4-way intersection in the village of Spodnji Hotič. Initially, I present the current state and problems of the existing intersection. Traffic loads are presented through analysis of the results of traffic counts. Next, I present three possible solutions for reconstruction of the current junction. The first solution includes an intersection with a separate lane for left turn. Then I present another two possible solutions which include roundabouts. Within each solution I explain which elements were used in planning and provide reasons therefor. Permeability of each solution is
checked by calculating saturation. The adequacy of roundabouts is further verified with speed control. For each solution I provide vertical and road markings. The elements and road markings for bus stations and parking lots are also determined. Finally, I summarize advantages and disadvantages of each solution separately.
