Most of the old buildings have been designed without the necessary fire analysis. In order to prevent the occurrence of life-threatening situations in the case of a fire it would be required to carefully analyze their evacuation plan. Today's programs allow us to overview relatively easy the developments for an evacuation in the case of fire.
In this thesis, I analyzed a part of the building of elementary school in Prade. I checked the adequacy of designed evacuation plan on the basis of the provisions in the technical guidelines (TSG1), and then I simulated the course of evacuation for different scenarios of fire with the help of software Pyrosim and Pathfinder. I presented three basic scenarios where I watched the final evacuation time, evacuation progress and expansion of the by-products of fire inside the building. Based on the results I presented possible solutions to reduce the evacuation time and the by-products of burning along the evacuation routes. The most effective solutions were joined in the optimal version.
I found that despite the age of the building and the shortcomings of designed evacuation plan we could contribute to safer and more effective course of evacuation within the primary school of Prade just with certain organizational measures.
