The thesis is about modeling of land use and transport with the observance on their interaction. First, it presents the development of urban systems modeling and a separate planning of land use and transport. The aspects of sustainable development are explained, which are the base of modern development trends. The thesis further describes integrated land use and transport modelling in more detail; from the causes for its development, theory and empirical studies of land use transport interaction to LUTI models used to design and valuation of policies for the development of land use and transport. The thesis describes the LUTI models evolution, which leads to the implementation in computer programs. Further I described computer modeling of land use and transport, with review of the mostly used programs. Among them I selected UrbanSim, which is an open source simulation system for support of the design and analysis of urban development. In the following, the basis for its development and main features are represented. Modelling and running simulation are described, where the input data, models, scenarios and results are reviewed.
Thesis concludes with a simulation example on San Antonio project, where the input data, simulation run and results are described in more detail.
