The theme of my diploma thesis is the influence of weather conditions on available solar energy in Slovenia. I will be presenting available solar energy in various places depending on given weather conditions. In my diploma thesis, I used data from automatic weather stations, as well as the PVGIS application, which provided calculations for the expected available solar energy per square meter and for the expected production of solar energy.
I also performed a comparison of the expected production in Ljubljana with the actual production of solar energy, with the help of Sunny Portal. By comparing the final results I came to the conclusion that weather conditions vary the least in the Alpine and sub-Mediterranean climates, which means that the available solar energy there also varies the least. In those places, the difference between the expected and actual solar energy is the smallest.
