The use of paper tickets is still one of the most popular methods of verifying tickets at the events. Because of increased number of mobile devices with network access and built-in NFC technology there are new methods emerging for verifying tickets. The thesis presents a solution to validate tickets with mobile application for Android devices. To perform tests a web application was implemented that enables organizers to create public events, performances or tour of museums/galleries. Visitors are able to view events on the web application and buy tickets for events. After the visitors collect tickets using mobile application, they can used them to gain entry by touching their mobile device NFC with another NFC device provided by event organiser. Main focus of this thesis is to develop a system that can verify tickets, without accessing the server for each request and thus reduce the time needed to verify the individual tickets.
