Inflammation of the middle ear is one of the most common diseases in childhood, which often occurs when you get a cold. For diagnosis of otitis media practitioners for many years using otoscope. In addition to otoscope, there are also three methods which are used for detection of inflammation: acoustic reflectometry, tympanometry and wideband absorbance tympanometry using air pressure sweeps.
The aim of the thesis was to create a combined method, where properties of tympanometry and wideband tympanometry without changing air pressure are used. The system generates the audio signals of 60 different frequencies ranged from 226 Hz to 8 kHz with a step of 130 Hz, a single excitation of frequency is 17 ms. At the same time the sound in the ear cavity, which is air sealed, is recorded.
Voice recordings were analyzed with Matlab. On the recorded signals I used the fast Fourier transform and represented the amplitude of the segment at each frequency.
