The Selška valley is rich in raw material, therefore, we tried to find out whether it would possible for a sawmill plant of medium size to function there profitably. The yearly capacity of sawn wood would be 18.000 m3. We explored the possibility of supplying the plant from the local area, we predicted the technological organisation of the sawmill plant depending on the material's quantity and wood species, as well as on type of final products. On the basis of the expected outcome and income we determined the business result. We found out that the predicted average cutting down of wood per year would assure us an undisturbed operation of the sawmill plant, and predict a positive business result.
