This diploma thesis examines the spatial design of a residential area in Nova Gorica. The aim of the thesis is to develop different spatial design solutions that comply with the principles of sustainable development, provide a high-quality living environment, and take into account current demographic indicators. In developing the design alternatives, the typology of residential buildings in the surrounding area was considered, together with the provisions of the Municipal Spatial Plan of the City Municipality of Nova Gorica (OPN MONG). Three design alternatives were developed, differing in the layout and typology of buildings, land use, quality of the living environment, and population density. The alternatives were compared and evaluated in order to identify the most suitable spatial design solution.
