Body composition, physical activity level, and cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) represent important indicators of health and lifestyle in young adults. Despite extensive literature addressing these factors, they are often examined separately, while studies adopting a comprehensive approach to their interrelationships remain relatively scarce. The aim of this study was to examine the relationships among these factors and to evaluate their predictive value for indicators of body composition. The study included healthy young adults aged 18 to 25 years. Body composition was assessed using anthropometric measurements, somatotype was determined using the Heath–Carter method, physical activity level was assessed with the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), and CRF was estimated as maximal oxygen uptake (VO₂max) derived from submaximal exercise tests. Data were analysed using appropriate statistical procedures and regression models. The results showed that self-reported physical activity was not significantly associated with CRF. Furthermore, mesomorphic individuals did not exhibit more favourable values of body composition indicators, physical activity level, or CRF. In contrast, endomorphic individuals showed significantly higher BMI, sum of body circumferences, and sum of skinfolds compared with mesomorphic and ectomorphic individuals, whereas no significant differences in physical activity level or CRF were observed among the somatotype groups. Regression analyses additionally indicated that CRF and somatotype were more closely related to body composition than to self-reported physical activity. These findings highlight the limitations of self-reported measures of physical activity and emphasize the importance of more objective and morphological indicators when assessing body structure in young adults. When interpreting the results, certain study limitations should also be considered, particularly those related to sample characteristics and the measurement procedures used; however, these limitations provide a basis for future research and do not diminish the relevance or practical value of the findings.
