Prosveta (Enlightenment) was the largest Slovene-American newspaper published by the Slovene National Benefit Society (Slovenska narodna podporna jednota). In the thesis, I catalogued and analysed literary works published in the newspaper between 1936 and 1938. I analysed the number of literary works, literary genres, the subtitles of short prose works, the authors’ signatures, and the ratio of Slovene to foreign authors. I also identified the translators of foreign literary works to Slovene. I compiled a bibliography of the catalogued literature, which is also available on Wikivir. I compiled a separate bibliography of Jack London’s literary works that were published in the newspaper. From 1926, Wednesday issues of Prosveta included English pages in which I identified articles on Slovene language and literature.
