This master’s thesis examines the use of information systems for event management in the Slovenian public administration, with a focus on the SAOD system. The thesis addresses the question of how digital solutions impact the efficiency of administrative processes and the role of public administration in the context of digital transformation. The work is based on a combination of theoretical and empirical approaches. The theoretical part includes an overview of the digital transformation of public administration, information systems, and the principles of good governance. The empirical part is based on qualitative research conducted through semi-structured interviews, analysed using thematic analysis. The results show that the SAOD system significantly contributes to data centralization, process automation, and improved coordination among stakeholders, particularly during complex events. At the same time, the research reveals limitations related to user experience, the level of user proficiency, and inconsistent use of the system. The findings confirm that the effectiveness of information systems does not depend solely on technical characteristics, but also on organizational and user factors. The practical value of the results is evident in their contribution to the development of digital solutions in public administration. The findings can serve as a basis for improving existing systems, increasing their user-friendliness, and better integration into administrative processes, thereby contributing to a more efficient, transparent, and reliable functioning of the public sector.
