In this paper an overview is offered of approaches to morphological description of Czech and Slovene pronouns, a group of words that create problems even with regard to definition. From the morphological, semantic and functional point of view, this is quite a diverse group of words, thus the systematic description is complicated. We will try to assess the strengths and weaknesses of grammatical explanations.
