The paper deals with the use of the comma in Slovene after introductory adverbial phrases. Our goal was to analyse if and to what extent Slovene speakers respect prosody by comma placement. We believe that the problems connected to the use of comma are caused also by (overly) complex and poorly categorised orthographic rules, so we focus mainly on structures which have been recognised by research as the places with the most striking differences between the codification and the actual language use.
