| Opomba: | ABSTRACT: The objective of the teaching of Croatian language as a subject is the acquisition of linguistic and communication competences in two main areas: use of language and knowledge of language. The material-technical tools for language teaching or the sources of knowledge include language manuals (orthography manual, grammar book, dictionary). The paper analyzes how well they are represented quantitatively and qualitatively, as well as their application in the teaching of the mother tongue, and proposes guidelines to improve their use in the classroom. /KEYWORDS: Croatian language, language didactics, orthography manual, grammar book, dictionary, language reference books |
