In my master’s thesis titled Luggage and the subtitle Anatomy of Grief, I explore the human relationship with the past, memories, and grief. I delve into all five stages of mourning, transform them into movement, and create an artistic product that illustrates the journey through this difficult path. I address the past not only from a thematic perspective, but also through form, scenography, makeup, costume design, movement, atmosphere, and music. I question whether there is a solution, whether there is a way out of this vicious cycle of thoughts, longing, unhealthy patterns, and beliefs that grief—or the empty hole left behind by those no longer present in our lives—carries with it. And yet, until the very end, I hold on to the hope that life is stronger than death. “[…] hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” (The Shawshank Redemption, 1994)
