The master thesis discusses the abilitites, personality traits and professional competencies of teachers and coaches of team sports who work in various educational institutions and coaching positions. We started from the belief that effective pedagogical work is a reflection of the entire intertwining of professional knowledge, personality traits, communication, organizational and other abilities. Our goal was to determine how teachers and coaches of team sports experience and understand their profession and which abilities they value as key.
In the theoretical part, we presented both characters individually, where we highlighted the importance of their professionalism, pedagogical approaches, professional competencies and personality structure for each. We also present the responsibilities that are part of the everyday life of the teaching and coaching profession, as well as aspects of positive attitude, authority and leadership styles that motivate students and athletes to work.
In the qualitative research, we studied the abilities and competencies of teachers and coaches of team sports that are key to achieving effective pedagogical work and leading groups of students or athletes. The research involved ten participants from the pedagogical and sports environment. Through the use of semi-structured interviews, we came to the conclusion that the key to effective work with adolescents is a combination of professional knowledge, organizational and communication skills, articulateness, experience, authenticity, ability to adapt, understanding and personal qualities such as perseverance, empathy, emotional stability, consistency, compassion, sense of humor. All participants believed that effective communication is a key element of pedagogical and coaching work.
With their work, the emphasize the need for continuous professional development and learning, as well as harmony, support and relationships that open the wax to effective, meaningful work with people.
