The problem of unknown stiffness material properties leads to the necessity of performing actual measurements, as estimations through simulations cannot be conducted due to a lack of data. To solve this problem, the natural frequencies were measured
and, through a response surface optimization process, the desired material parameters were obtained. A linear elastic model was applied in order to describe the composite material, aiming for speed and ease of use. It was demonstrated that natural frequency measurements conducted using mobile phones are equivalent to those obtained with professional equipment.
