In my thesis, I examine the use of Incoterms clauses in international trade, with an emphasis on their practical relevance in contract formation between buyers and sellers. The Incoterms clauses, issued by the International Chamber of Commerce, represent a standardized set of rules that define the responsibilities of the contracting parties regarding delivery, transfer of risk, costs, and the transportation of goods. The theoretical part covers the development of international trade, the role of logistics and freight forwarding, the importance of international institutions, as well as an overview of the history and structure of the Incoterms rules. In the practical part, I analyse a specific foreign trade transaction and compare the application of three different Incoterms clauses.
