In the Master's thesis, the first phase of high-pressure die casting of aluminum alloys is analyzed, where inadequate plunger velocities may cause melt wave formation and air entrapment, leading to porosity and reduced casting quality. Numerical simulations in Magmasoft and experimental fill tests on a die casting machine were performed to validate the simulation results. The results showed good agreement between numerical simulations and experiments, confirming the reliability of simulations for optimizing the high-pressure die casting process.
