This diploma thesis presents the application of artificial intelligence in the photo editing process. Through practical examples of three different types of photography, it describes the entire workflow of photo culling and editing, followed by a comparison of different editing approaches.
The theoretical part provides an overview of the history and development of photo editing, as well as the current technologies and tools used in this field. The presented programs, Adobe Bridge and Adobe Lightroom, are used for manual culling and editing, while Aftershoot and ImagenAI incorporate artificial intelligence into the same process. Furthermore, a survey among photographers describes the extent to which artificial intelligence is already present in the world of digital photography.
In the research section, different editing methods were compared based on the time required for each process, while the edited photos were evaluated through a preference survey. The analysis of the results revealed which editing method was the highest rated and which offered the greatest time savings.
