The present dissertation in its core represents Suha Krajina during the Second World War - all authorities, present in this area, their administrations and institutions. In addition to the administrative system, military and war events and the administrative systems of people’s authority are presented - a new form of administrative system from which the later administrative system with the new leadership of Yugoslavia developed. Suha Krajina was marked by various armies operating in the area. Partisans were active throughout the war, during the Italian occupation, the MVAC cooperated with the Italian army, and during the German occupation, the Home Guards cooperated with the German army. During the period of people’s authority, the National Liberation Movement placed great emphasis on elections, which were regularly held since 1942 and through which committees and representatives of the people were elected for assemblies and the organization of the state structure. The people’s authority experienced its confirmation and transformation of the state after the elections on 11th November 1945. At that time, elections were held according to the Tito-Šubašić agreement, when the people elected their representatives to the Constituent Assembly. The preparations, atmosphere and events during the elections were presented from the field by newspapers, and the Official Gazette recorded all the steps in accepting the documents for the elections. The results for the electoral districts of Grosuplje and Novo mesto, which included the places of Suha Krajina, were published, as well as conclusions and a comparison with the entire country.
