In this thesis, we investigated the use of chatbot robots among Slovenian high school students. More specifically, we were interested in the extent to which Slovenian high school students use chatbot robots and in what ways, and to examine how various factors (perceived social support, social anxiety, and attitudes towards AI) predict the use of these tools. We were also interested in whether the use of chatbot robots to satisfy social needs predicts higher well-being. Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire in four Slovenian high schools (N = 409). Most high school students use chatbot robots, and we extracted four types of chatbot use, with school/instrumental use being the most frequent. Through robust multiple regression analysis, we found that the affective component of attitudes towards AI and perceived social support from teachers are significant predictors of chatbot robot use.
