In this thesis, we performed a prosodic analysis of priests' speech during sermons. The introductory part of the thesis describes the methodology, which included individual phonetic analysis and computer analysis using the Praat program. This is followed by a definition of a sermon, the speech position of priests, and their education in the field of rhetoric. Next, all prosodic parameters are described, with an emphasis on the description of stress, pauses, and speech rate, which we analyzed in more detail in the thesis. The second part of the thesis describes the empirical research. First, we conducted a more extensive analysis of the speech of four selected speakers. This is followed by a presentation and interpretation of the research results and a comparison of these results with similar studies that have already been conducted.
