The thesis researches stories that appear in both literary and comic book form, with an emphasis on the way comics can recreate the effects produced by literary texts. I start by defining both mediums, highlighting their respective affordances and limitations, and comparing the reading process associated with each of these mediums. I then provide an in-depth analysis of recent Slovene comic book adaptations of literary works, examining how these adaptations reinterpret and reproduce the narrative effects of the original texts.
