“Preserved in Time” explores money as an object of aesthetic, historical and symbolic value and questions its role from an everyday medium of exchange to a bearer of cultural and emotional meaning. Through the technique of photo collage of fragments of banknotes from the former Yugoslavia and monochrome oil painting, nostalgia is connected to the question of what happens when value loses its economic function but retains emotional and visual meaning. The working process includes the selection of motifs, sketching and experimentation with form, where the collage represents a combination of preserving the past and contemporary expression. The aim of the work is to encourage the viewer to question the concept of value, transience and the way in which art can permeate and transform everyday objects.
