This master’s thesis focuses on exploring the promotion of reading through the marketing of family tourism, with an emphasis on experiential storytelling and considering the specific case of the Slovenian Outdoor Family Adventure Trails. Over the past ten years, family tourism in Slovenia has significantly developed and gained importance, attracting more and more families to accessible, engaging, and educational experiences that offer opportunities for spending quality family time. Connecting stories with experiences in nature and real locations enables the creation of unique and appealing tourist offers, which are in this particular case supported with picture books and didactic notebooks. This also represents an important factor in preserving a healthy reading culture among young people in society. By researching this field, the thesis highlights how Slovenia, with its rich offerings, can continue to harness its great potential in innovative ways through storytelling experiences, thereby contributing to the growth of family tourism in the region and simultaneously supporting the development of a reading culture that has been declining globally in recent years, mainly due to digitalization.
