Rapid aging is one of the most important social issues in today's society. Intergenerational integration plays a key role in ensuring the social inclusion of older people and quality aging. In the theoretical part, I presented topics such as risks and opportunities in aging, social work with older people, an overview of government measures in the field of quality aging and intergenerational integration, social inclusion of older people in contemporary society, the influence of the community on preventing social exclusion of older people, intergenerational collaboration and solidarity as well as the importance of volunteering for promoting intergenerational cooperation. With qualitative research, I wanted to assess how the Carinthian Intergenerational Center contributes to improving the social inclusion of older people and intergenerational integration between generations, the involvement of users in deciding on the content and implementation of activities, the accessibility of activities according to the personal and social needs of users, what forms of interaction and intergenerational cooperation do they enable and how do they ensure the accessibility and inclusion of different generations in the center's activities. I conducted a focus group with eight participants and one interview. The results showed that the Carinthian Intergenerational Center plays an important role in establishing and maintaining social contacts among older people. Volunteers and employees play an important role in this, who through their work enable regular implementation of activities and ensure the active involvement of users who co-shape activities in the Carinthian Intergenerational Center. By implementing activities that are interesting for all generations, the Carinthian Intergenerational Center ensures the involvement of different generations and thus enables intergenerational connections.
