The thesis discusses literary figures who have various connections to the town of Šmartno pri Litiji. This is a collection of twenty personalities who were either born, created, worked, or ultimately died in Šmartno pri Litiji throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. The area is also considered a literary space, i.e. the setting of literary works, and therefore in connection with the biographies of authors. We also try to give the task a historical and cultural framework, including the development and importance of reading rooms. Monuments or important landmarks in the area are also presented, which confirm the presence of the aforementioned authors in the space even after their death.
