In my diploma thesis, I developed and optimized HPLC and GC methods for the determination of six most commonly used pesticides in agriculture. The work included the preparation of appropriate standard solutions, optimization of the conditions of the analysis methods, creation of calibration curves, validation of both methods, implementation of simple extractions, preparation and analysis of samples. The developed methods are suitable for qualitative and quantitative determination of the content of selected pesticides in soil and surface water. I then used the optimized methods for the analysis of seven environmental samples, sampling water from streams and reservoirs and soil near agricultural areas.
