The master's thesis explores the verse of Slovenian dialect poetry in its most interesting features. The theoretical part provides a literary-historical framework for writing (and reading) dialectal poetry, defines basic linguistic and versification concepts, and lists the linguistic characteristics of individual dialects, subdialects, and speech varieties in which the analyzed poetry is written. The empirical part consists of a verse analysis of the poetic material from the perspective of meter, rhythm, verse and stanzaic forms, rhythmic procedures, and tropes and (phonetic) figures, as well as a linguistic analysis of the poems at the phonological, morphological, and word-formation (and partly syntactic) levels, an overview of the ways of writing dialectal poetry, and an analysis of the dialectal lexicon.
