In my master's thesis, I am focused on identifying common features in 14 poems, published in the periodical Križ na gori, 1924–1927 (»The Cross on the Mountain« – hence the name Križarji – »Crusaders« for their founders and »Crusade« for their movement in the rest of the text) by the representatives of the Slovene »Crusade« movement: France Vodnik, Tine Debeljak, Božo Vodušek, Vital Vodušek and Bogomir Magajna. Moreover, I try to establish the connection between the content of their poetry and that of the non-literary part of the periodical. In the first part, the beginnings of the movement and its idea are introduced, then the periodical Križ na gori itself and finally its establishers and creators. This is followed by the description on the »Crusaders«' view of their own art as well as the view of the contemporary literary history. In the second part, I interpret and analyse the published poems and in the conclusion I highlight their common characteristics.
