Public administration plays a key role in society; it is important for the implementation of political goals and the provision of public services for citizens and organizations. Management in public administration takes place through administrative procedures, in which decisions are made about the rights, obligations and legal benefits. Since violations of the law occur, the supervision of public administration is necessary.
The purpose of the bachelor thesis is to present the role and operation of the administrative inspection in Slovenia and to analyze its inspections controls in the years from 2022 to 2024. Through document analysis, normative analysis, analysis of the annual reports of the IJS and interviews, the role and operation of the administrative inspection were investigated, as well as the most common violations of the subjects and the measures. Internal control and preventive measures are the most typical characteristics of administrative inspection. The most common violations found in administrative procedures are irregularities in making decisions, basic principles and violations of deadlines. The most common violations in administrative operations relate to the recording of received documents and the design characteristics of documents.
The operation and role of administrative inspection is of fundamental importance in the legal operation of public administration and the protection of the rights of parties in administrative procedures.
