In this diploma thesis, I propose a solution to the insufficient availability of real-time air quality data in a standard format.
I propose a platform for collecting, aggregating, and sharing data from low-cost Atmotube air quality sensors.
The platform leverages the existing Atmotube Cloud API to retrieve raw measurements from Atmotube devices, which are stored in a PostgreSQL database with the PostGIS extension.
Access to anonymized and aggregated data is provided via a REST API, implemented with PostgREST technology, while access management and authentication are handled by Tyk API Gateway.
A web application, developed with SvelteKit, allows for easy addition of Atmotube sensors, monitoring of the number of contributions, and visualization of aggregated data on a map.
Platform evaluation showed that the measured data have minimal latency when the Atmotube infrastructure is operating correctly.
Automated access to measurements from multiple Atmotube devices over an extended time period is significantly shortened using the platform, as confirmed by measurements.
An analysis of the platform's practical use at the »Jožef Stefan« Institute showed that the data access process for a researcher is now twice as fast and involves only three manual steps instead of seven, significantly simplifying and accelerating the analysis of measurement results from Atmotube devices.
