In my bachelor’s thesis I will address the archetype of the femme fatale, which I will practically demonstrate as a comic book based on Oscar Wilde’s Salome. The final goal of the thesis is an independent interpretation of the text in comic form with a clear storyline through which I explore the issue of the sexualisation of women in social, literary and art contexts, how it affects the traditional male gaze, and the role of a woman's sexuality as the contributor of tragedy. I will highlight my proposition through emphasising and exaggerating the elements of the original text.
