The master thesis presents poetic opus of Miriam Drev and Olvido García Valdés focusing on the meaning of nature in their poetry. It is a demonstration of the double meaning of nature – sometimes purely thematic, at other times nature appears as a representative of the symbolic world. The structure of the thesis is as follows: contextualization of the poets, an outline of the methodology of the narratological analysis of the lyric poetry, which if further on applied to the thematic presentation and comparison of the poems. The continuation presents the reception of nature in certain literary periods, followed by a description of the theories of ecocriticism and ecofeminism which are then applied to the interpretation of the selected poems in the strand where nature is specifically highlighted. Finally, there is a commentary on the translation of the poems from Spanish to Slovene, and the thesis concludes with the insights gained throughout the whole writing process, once again demonstrating and confirming the value of nature in the poetry of Miriam Drev and Olvido García Valdés.
