For the purpose of this study, we looked at the student residences in the Rožna dolina student village, focusing on a comparison between the spaces of a dormitory that has not been renovated and one that has been renovated relatively recently. The main focus of the thesis was to improve the energy efficiency and thermal comfort of the non-renovated dormitory, as this can ensure lower costs and a higher level of comfort for the students living in the dorm. The thesis contains three main parts. In the first part, technical documentation was obtained, a survey and inventory of the current situation was carried out, contact and air temperature sensors were installed and an infrared camera was used to capture the exterior and interior façades of the rooms in question. In the second part of the thesis, the thermal comfort and energy efficiency of the rooms in their current state were analysed and presented on the basis of the data obtained from the measurements. Based on these findings, possible improvements were proposed. In the third part of the thesis, the same analyses were carried out for the proposed measures as in the second part, in order to compare the conceptual solutions with the existing situation. This was done to determine the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed measures. We have proposed two measures: one measure has been found to achieve a comparable result to that of the renovated dorm, while the other measure also meets the thermal transmittance requirements of the external walls. However, the latter is associated with higher implementation costs.
