The article presents the results of research on the strength of feelings and the status of female figures in the different literary genres of the Old Testament with particular reference to the figure of Abigail in the literary context of 1 Sam 25. The analysis of the biblical text in the original Hebrew and in ancient and modern translations has allowed us to highlight the dynamics of feelings present in the three protagonists: Nabal, David and Abigail. In addition, particular attention has been paid to the role of Abigail in promoting the emergence of feelings of life and in transforming the feelings of revenge of the main protagonist, David. The article pays particular attention to the use of the vocabulary employed in the Hebrew text in the expression of the feelings considered.Članek predstavlja rezultate raziskave o moči čustev in čutenja ter o statusu ženskih figur v različnih literarnih zvrsteh Stare zaveze s posebnim poudarkom na liku Abigájile v literarnem kontekstu 1 Sam 25. Analiza svetopisemskega besedila v hebrejskem izvirniku ter v starodavnih in sodobnih prevodih je omogočila izpostaviti dinamiko čutenja treh protagonistov: Nabala, Davida in Abigájile. Poleg tega je bil poseben poudarek namenjen Abigájilini vlogi pri spodbujanju porajanja življenjskih občutkov in transformaciji čustev maščevanja glavnega protagonista Davida. Članek namenja posebno pozornost uporabi besedišča, uporabljenega v hebrejskem besedilu pri izražanju obravnavanih občutkov in čutenja.
