The master's thesis investigates the Concertino for piano and string orchestra (1949) by Lucijan Marija Škerjanc. In the first part, his life path and work are described, in the following, a look at the aesthetic starting points and compositional style of the composer as seen by the professional public and Lucijan Marija Škerjanc himself, followed by an analysis of the title piece as a sample composition with the aim of checking the consistency of the findings with those from the biographical work and at the very end of the master's thesis, a conclusion with a summary of what was learned.
