The master's thesis focuses on the inventory and description of the objects of the Rapala border or the Alpine Wall in the municipality of Ilirska Bistrica, which was established by the Treaty of Rapala in 1920 between the Kingdom of Italy and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (later Yugoslavia). The Rapal border had a significant impact on the political, geographical and social image of the area and left a lasting mark on the lives of the inhabitants. In the task, buildings such as guardhouses, bunkers, barracks and other fortification elements, which still bear witness to this historical period, were listed and described in detail. The methodology was based on the analysis of archival sources and field research, which enabled a comprehensive insight into the historical role of these buildings and their state of preservation.
