Like any military in the 20th century, the Imperial Japanese Army invested millions in its armaments. With its involvement in the conflicts prior to the outbreak of World War II, it was able to introduce many of its domestically produced weapons to the world market. In their military campaigns in China, they did well on the battlefield. With Japan’s entry into World War II in 1941, its military put its weapons to the test. The well-known marches through the British colonies in the early chapters of the Pacific War gave the Japanese a lot of momentum and self-confidence, which waned quite quickly when the United States became actively involved in the war.
