The thesis depicts intimate partner abuse. I tried to find information on how often it happens here, in Slovenia, and compare it with data collected around the world (mostly America, where more studies of the theme are available). Apart from theoretical research, I tried to find and compare how often, for what purpose and in what way, abuse is portrayed in different forms of art, how it can help you heal after a traumatic experience and how I, personally, could portray the consequences of an abusive relationship my friend had been in for three years, in a photographic medium.
