This master's thesis focuses on the preservation of stenciled wall paintings, particularly in situations where the original artwork is at risk. The practical component of the research was carried out at Šrajbarski Turn in Leskovec near Krško, where a specific stenciled wall painting was chosen for reconstruction. The thesis provides a detailed account of the entire process, from the initial examination of the paintings to the final reconstruction. Different methods were tested, including both manual and laser cutting of stencils on various materials, along with the use of different types of paint. The research includes a review of the historical development of stenciling techniques, the methods of creating and using stencils, and presents the results of testing various materials and techniques for stenciling. Based on this research, reconstructions of the stenciled wall painting were created, contributing to the preservation of built heritage.
