The subject of the thesis is the credit analysis preparation of a company applying for financing. For the purposes of the analytical part of the thesis, we firstly defined the main components of loans and the appropriateness of individual choices according to the purpose and desires of the lender. Then we focused on assessing the creditworthiness of companies, with an emphasis on micro and small companies, where the most common legal organizational forms in Slovenia are sole proprietorships and limited liability companies. Based on this, the thesis aims to find out which financial indicators banks and savings banks use to evaluate creditworthiness and in what way micro and small companies that do not own real estate suitable for insurance obtain financing. As an example of favourable loans for micro and small businesses, we examined the product of SID bank, which covers insurance and provides a favourable interest rate. With the help of established theories about creditworthiness, we prepared a credit analysis for the selected company and gave an opinion on the company's creditworthiness for the proposed financing.
