The thesis briefly presents views, prejudices, and stereotypes, then discusses the family and its numerous definitions, its evolution over time, and the so-called family crisis. The thesis focuses on homosexuality and polyamory. It presents what homosexuality is, its history in Slovenia, general beliefs about homosexual people, the regulation of legislation on homosexuality, and the presence of same-sex families. This is followed by an introduction to the largely unknown concept of polyamory, where a brief explanation is given, followed by a discussion of potential polyamorous families and the legal status of polyamorous relationships and consequently polyamorous families. An example of a polyamorous relationship from Slovenia is included to demonstrate the presence of polyamory in the country. The empirical part explores educators' perspectives and their understanding of diverse family structures, with a specific focus on comparing attitudes towards same-sex families versus polyamorous families.
