The concluding work describes the development of a process for equipping a bonded radial magnetic ring of a magnetic encoder with a welded cover foil. The process involves the manufacture and assembly of a thin strip of cover foil on the circumference of the radial ring, followed by laser welding to join the two. The laser system for laser welding of magnetic rings uses a fiber laser with a nominal power of 400 W. The concluding work describes the modifications and improvements of the laser system to enable laser welding of the cover foil onto the magnetic ring. Through the optimization of the laser welding process, we aim to achieve the desired properties of the welds, which are determined by the mechanical and aesthetic requirements of the final product. The attainment of weld properties is evaluated through mechanical tests, enabling the assessment of weld joint strength, as well as analysis to determine the size of the heat affected zone and other defects.
