Due to the complexity of today's manufacturing processes, simulation has become a key step in the set-up and design of manufacturing and assembly systems. The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate the modularity of the assembly system installed in the LASIM laboratory and to simulate its operation within the simulation program Process Simulate. The modules have been inventoried and modelled within the simulation program. Additional elements such as robotic arms and grippers were imported and kinematic elements were defined for all dynamic models. Finally, as part of the task, we presented the final model of the assembly system modules in the simulation environment, demonstrated the modularity of the assembly system and performed a pick and place simulation. We also provided comments on the system, suggestions for possible improvements to the simulation and a further target for the deployment approach on the remaining modules in the LASIM laboratory.
