CNC machines can be used for a variety of purposes such as turning, milling, and engraving. CNC machines for engraving softer materials can be developed and built at home with some knowledge. Many standard components can be purchased online at a low cost, and the connecting parts can be made at home from plastic using a 3D printer. This thesis presents the design, development, and assembly of a CNC engraving machine and its control system. The machine was first constructed as a 3D model, where the plastic parts were adapted to the standard aluminum profiles and other components. The machine is controlled using an Arduino microcontroller and the Grbl library. A test of the machine's accuracy and repeatability was also carried out, thus evaluating the rigidity of the plastic parts.
