In this master's thesis, we have developed a system aimed at automating the data acquisition for experimental modal analysis. The system which performs automated excitation of analyzed structure and measures dynamic response using non-contact method was automated using micro-controllers and PC. We start the thesis by reviewing different types of vibration and deriving governing equation for thin plate. Following, we represent the hardware and software of used system. In the last part we did system validation on a real case problem. First, we developed an algorithm to determine operation parameters. Which is then followed by test measurements and data visualization.
