Wood drying technology is the most important process of preparation of raw material for production. It covers several inter-factors which individually or as a whole have an impact on the final quality of the product. We have followed to the flow of material with especially designed method through all phases of drying technology in company ESOL d.o.o. Based on selected dry kilns, we have evaluated the approaches and implementation of quality control. Method is based on individual visual evaluation on the basis of which we have detected the negative consequences and the deficiencies in the drying process. We have analyzed the results and present relevant proposals for their reduction and correction. Taking into account our proposals, we predict that the quality of dried wood and drying equipment status will improve, energy consumption will decrease and thereby the flexibility and economic status of the company will improve.
