The indicator spring of a fuse link serves as an indication of the fuse element's burnout when it is overloaded. The indicator spring is a key element of the indication, as it shows this not only independently but also in cooperation with a microswitch, which enables remote indication. Several types of indicator springs are used in the company. In this work, we first determined the operating conditions, which are determined by the microswitch. Based on these, we verified the operation of the indicator springs both physically and also numerically by means of the program Comsol Multiphysics. Finally, we compared the results of the simulations with the measured values. We found that the geometry of the samples used has a strong influence on the results and that we were able to approximate close to real conditions with numerical simulations.
